I hate when they cop out and give you a wildly insufficient rulebook + instructions to go online and watch their video, because "everyone hates reading the rules"

Excuse you, I hate watching videos, how dare you make me pick up my phone when I'm trying to play a meatspace game

I haven't encountered this in a board game before, but I definitely have in other kinds of printed instructions! The one advantage of putting your instructions online is that if there turns out to be a problem with them, you can correct it immediately instead of having to wait until the next print run. But like, book authors deal with that all the time, and there are so many advantages to written instructions—from the fact that this is an analog medium for people who LIKE analog media to the ability to leave the rulebook open on a specific page for reference throughout the game.
